Caring For Counter Surfaces

Granite or Natural Stone Surfaces

  • Clean surface with warm water and a few drops of dishwashing detergent and dry with a soft cloth.

  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners.

  • Avoid placing hot cooking oils on the counter top.

  • Avoid cutting directly on granite, it dulls the knives.

  • Heat and scratch resistant. (Granite, diamond, quartz and stoneware may scratch granite.)

  • A non-toxic penetrating sealer is applied to the counter at time of installation.

  • Counter tops should be resealed every year.

Engineered Stone or Quartz

Virtually maintenance free. The non-porous surface of engineered stone requires the simplest clean up with soap and water or an all-purpose liquid cleaner. Spills stay on the surface and are not absorbed and can easily be wiped clean. It is stain, scratch and heat resistant. (Granite, diamond, quartz and stoneware may scratch engineered stone.)

Solid Surface

The non-porous surface of solid surface requires the simplest clean up with soap and water or an all-purpose liquid cleaner. Spills stay on the surface and are not absorbed and can easily be wiped clean.  Minor cuts and scratches can be repaired. Always use a hot pad or trivet under hot pots or pans and any heat producing appliances.
